You have the right to receive vaccinations against infectious diseases. The municipal health service is responsible for providing this service.
Description
The municipal health service offers vaccinations against infectious diseases. Contact your general practitioner or health center. The national vaccination program includes:
- Childhood vaccinations for all children in preschool and primary school
- Annual seasonal flu vaccination for high-risk individuals
- Vaccination against pandemic influenza
- Vaccination against COVID-19
- Pertussis (whooping cough) vaccine for pregnant women
- Other vaccines for certain risk groups (e.g., pneumococcal vaccine, hepatitis vaccines, BCG)
Target group
People residing in or temporarily staying in the municipality.
Criteria/conditions
The Norwegian Institute of Public Health determines which individuals belong to high-risk groups and should be offered seasonal flu vaccination. In the case of pandemic influenza, the municipality offers vaccination following guidelines from the Norwegian Institute of Public Health.
Charges/Cost of the service
Childhood vaccinations, the pertussis vaccine for pregnant women, and COVID-19 vaccinations are free. Other vaccinations may require a co-payment.

Possibilities to appeal; procedure
If you believe you are not receiving necessary assistance or are dissatisfied with the service, you can file a complaint with the municipality or directly with the service provider. Explain what you are dissatisfied with and what changes you request.
