School Camps and Educational Trips

A school camp is an overnight educational trip that is part of primary and lower secondary education. The learning activities primarily take place outdoors, either in the mountains or by the sea, depending on the location of the camp.

Description

A school camp or an educational trip with at least three overnight stays is part of the mandatory curriculum in primary and lower secondary education.

Schools have the flexibility to organize the trip based on local conditions and opportunities. The main requirements are that the trip must last at least three nights and include educational activities. The planning process should involve both students and parents, taking into account the different needs of the students.

Target group

Students in primary school.

Criteria/conditions

All students must have the opportunity to participate in school camps and trips, including students with disabilities. Students cannot be excluded from school trips due to poor behavior or discipline issues.

Charges/Cost of the service

For students, school camps are free of charge.

For other school trips not classified as school camps, there may be costs for meals. These trips do not have to be financed by the school. They can be funded through fundraising efforts such as volunteer work, small jobs, or raffles.

Parents or a parent group may donate money for such a school trip, but donations must be anonymous and benefit the entire student group.
