Before and After-School Program (SFO)

The Before and After-School Program (SFO) offers play and leisure activities before and after school hours. If you have a child in 1st to 4th grade, you can apply for a spot in the program.

Description

The Before and After-School Program has its own value foundation. It aims to promote well-being and joy through free play and structured activities, while also providing space for recreation and rest.

You can apply for a spot for your child in SFO. It is available before and after school hours for students in 1st to 4th grade and for students with special needs in 1st to 7th grade.

Target group

Primary school students.

Charges/Cost of the service

12 hours of free SFO for 1st to 3rd grade
Students in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade receive 12 hours of free SFO. For those with a part-time spot, this means free access to SFO.

Reduced payment for students in 1st to 4th grade
If the standard fee exceeds 6% of the total annual household income, you are entitled to a reduced fee.

Children with special needs
If you have a child with special needs who qualifies for an SFO placement, the program will be free for children in 5th to 7th grade.

Guidelines – applying for, or receiving the service

You can apply to the municipality for a place in the Before and After-School Program. In your application, specify whether you qualify for reduced payment or if you have a child with special needs.

Administrative procedure

Before the municipality makes a decision, you will be notified that your case is under review, and you will have the opportunity to provide input. The municipality will gather all necessary information to make a decision, and you have the right to access the documents in your case. The decision will include the municipality's reasoning, how the decision was reached, and who was involved in the process. The decision will be sent to you in writing.

Time taken to consider the application

The municipality must process the case as soon as possible. If the case cannot be resolved within one month, you will receive written notice explaining the delay. You will also be informed of when a decision is expected.

Possibilities to appeal; procedure

If you are dissatisfied with the decision, you can appeal within three weeks from the date you received it. Explain what you are dissatisfied with and why you believe the decision should be changed. If you need guidance, you can contact the municipality. If the municipality upholds its decision, the case will be forwarded to the County Governor, who will determine whether the appeal is justified.
