Assessment and Grades in Primary School

In primary school, students receive assessments in subjects without grades. In lower secondary school, students receive assessments with grades.

Description

As a primary school student, you will receive individual assessments in all subjects. These assessments may consist of ongoing assessments and final assessments. Even though grades are not given, you will receive feedback on your progress towards achieving the competence goals in the curriculum.

In lower secondary school, a final assessment may be a grade for a subject or an official school certificate.

Possibilities to appeal; procedure

You can appeal all grades that appear on your school certificate. The school must inform both you and your parents about the right to appeal and the appeal deadline. If needed, the school must assist you in filing an appeal.
